Abdelhakim Artiba, President, Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France

Abdelhakim Artiba was re-elected as president of the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University (formerly University of Valenciennes and Hainaut-Cambrésis) by the university’s board of directors on Friday October 18, 2019. He is president since April 2016. He was vice-president of research and doctoral studies at the university since 2010.
In 1990, He holds a PhD in automation and computer science at UVHC and obtained an HDR (habilitation to supervise research), in computer engineering sciences, at the Claude-Bernard Lyon 1 university, in 1995.
Prof. Abdelhakim Artiba has written more than 200 papers in leading journals and specialized international conferences. In 1993, he created the Industrial Management Research Center in Mons, Belgium, which he directed until 2004.
He was appointed full professor at the ETS in Montreal. He then became a university professor at Supméca Paris, where he exercised responsibilities in both research and training. He joined the UPHF in 2009. He has been the founder and president, since 1993, of the biennial IESM (International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Systems Management) conference.
